The Association of Community Organizations For Reform Now, aka ACORN is on the hot seat again. During the General Election of 2008, allegations arose of voter fraud in Florida, Missouri, Wisconsin, New Mexico, Ohio, Michigan and North Carolina, among others. Now, new allegations..
Evidentially, a new challenge has been made against ACORN in DC and Baltimore. An amateur videographer decides to dress as a pimp and his girlfriend as a prostitute, they then enter these offices and expressed that he is a pimp, his girlfriend a prostitute and expresses that they wish to setup a brothel for young El Salvadorian girls. The ACORN staffers then proceed to give advice on how to commit fraud against the IRS, lender and how to facilitate protecting the Pimp’s future political expectations. I wouldn’t really care, except in one of the two videos the ACORN staffer mentions that she is also a Realtor. WTH!?!?!
No where in the Code of Ethics do I recall, “help your client pimp out girls…” #justsayin.
Of course ACORN has reported that they terminated the employees and I would hope that someone proceeds with licensing issues for the “Realtor”. Remember that ACORN is subsidized by federal tax dollars – your tax dollars. So, here’s my primary question – why should a licensee be able to work for a federally sponsored program dealing with housing? Isn’t that an inherent conflict of interest?
Regardless, I’ve been amazed at the number of people who are defending the actions of the workers.
