My blogging friend Mariana Wagner (one of the best out there) has meme’d me. She’s with Keller Williams Client’s Choice in Colorado Springs, CO and is generally a cool person.
Meme’s are social games that help folks get to know each other. In this case it’s, like a a chain letter in that someone sends you the request and you have to forward it to a certain number of folks. In this instance it’s 8 questions and 8 friends. (Like I have 8 other friends…)
Question 1: Who is your favorite Musical Artist?
Currently my favorite artist is Casting Crowns. They have a great message, awesome style and ability to stay relevant.
Next to Casting Crowns, I a big fan of Chris Daughtry.
Question 2: Who is My Favorite Artist?
This is one of the most telling questions in this series. I suppose I could say Norman Rockwell, who I actually do like, but honestly my favorite is Ariel Olivetti/Mike Zeck who are comic book authors and did “The Kingdom”
Question 3: Who is My Favorite Blogger
My favorite blogger to read is Russell Shaw. Russell is a straight forward guy, who doesn’t put up with much, but I feel really does delight in seeing other Realtors succeed. Almost everything that I read from him is well written and has some of the coolest graphics I’ve seen from a blogger. He’s also a fellow author at www.AgentGenius.com.
My next favorite (sorry he’s not the first) is Benn Rosales. Mainly because he and Lani had the vision to start and maintain www.AgentGenius.com; which I think is one of (if not the) best real estate blog out there. Benn has a great ability to show a balanced opinion about real estate topics and coach a culture toward greater relevance in the industry.
(I’m such a sycophant)
Question 4: If you could meet anyone (dead or alive), who would it be and what is interesting about them?
It would be President Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. He was a father, leader, revolutionists and man of honor. He was a young president who believed in progression and the betterment of man. I’ve read his bios and his relationship with his children spoke volumes for his character. He was a very charismatic leader and one of the most respected in his time.
More recently, I would wish to meet with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. As a activist and leader, he revolutionalized the world as we know it. His dedication to cause, with the last full measure of dedication cut short an amazing ministry who’s pattern of non-violence and passion could have had even greater benefits to our culture. I only with to have a fraction of the passion this many had for equality in people. Our inherent heterogenity is a death nail in to this culture.
Question 5: What did I want to be when I grew up?
What makes you think that I have reached a point where I am grown up? Honestly, as sapping as it sounds;mistakes aside, I am exactly who I wanted to be when I grew up. I have an amazing wife, great kids and a cool job that I like very much.
Other than that? I wanted to be The Batman!
Question 6: What is the most interesting piece of Trivia that I know?
Ummm, I once won Trivial Pursuit by knowing that “Orange” is the most commonly used county name in America.
I’ve heard that lipstick contains fish scales
The first CD created was Bruce Springstein’s “Born in the USA”
Yeah, I’m pretty boring when it comes to Trivia.
Question 7: If you could live in any point of history when would it be and why?
I would live whenever “Leave it to Beaver” was. I love the 50’s . The times seemed simpler, the family and communities more social and healthy. I enjoy the internet as much as anyone, but the pace of the world today and access to information and television has robbed us of relationships. I think as a culture we’ve realized this and it’s one of the reasons why the Internet has taken on it’s evolution to social media.
I would just like to live in friendlier life, where community was more involved with one another and business was just simpler.
Question 8: What is the most interesting job you’ve every had?
As much as I enjoy being an educator, I think that being a Realtor was the most interesting job. The opportunities that it offered, the friendships, the ability to write off technology toys as work…. Really it was the coolest thing I’ve done, and I’ve done some cool stuff. Each and every client and agent encounter was a unique and interesting experience in and of itself.
As you can see I am really not that interesting, and honestly I unique – just like everyone else…
Thanks for reading, if you actually made it to the end of this.
