Sometimes… just sometimes… I remember that there’s a world outside of my own. I’ve been so involved with social media and it’s application to real estate engagement that I’ve not really taken time to read the blogs of those who write just for the love of writing.
Recently I’ve been wandering about the interwebs of my online neighbors. I’ve been reading local bloggers who share their thoughts, opinions and ideas and they have no motive other than simply sharing.
It has been refreshing to read the hearts of other writers who don’t care about the format, the right graphics or SEO. That freedom, that expressiveness has reminded me what social engagement is all about. In some cases, the writings have been offensive, enlightening or entertaining but even when I haven’t agreed with the author or the language has challenged me; I’ve grown to respect the person who has opened themselves to sharing and debate.
It’s online engagement in it’s purest form and I’m thankful for everyone who has been willing to toss their pebble in the flow of the ‘net.
